DC Zoo!!

So Abe and I sometimes make spontaneous decisions--that is a proven fact. Last Saturday,May 22nd, we made the spontaneous decision to drive down to DC and take both kids to the zoo for their first zoo trip ever! We had a blast. Alex, being 2, was of course far more "into"the zoo than 6 Month old Amaya, but she smiled and giggled all day too. We saw a lot of cool animals. Alex's favorite was the tiger, so it was no surprise when at the end of the trip, when we let him pick one stuffed animal from the gift shop, he happily chose a cute stuffed tiger. He wanted the life-sized adult model, but we of course steered him towards the cuter, smaller and way less expensize baby model. He also loved the small monkeys in the mammal house and the large gorillas in the ape house. He watched them for a long, long timeand just giggled andsmiled at all of their antics. He pretty much took interest in everything, except for duh duh duh---the bird house. He hated, hated, hated with a passion the large birds and ducks there. We had to remove him from that section because he freaked out. We posted a couple pics of our fun family day at the zoo,and I hope you all enjoy them. Maybe next time,it won't be so spontaneous and people will be asked to join us!
