9 Months and Counting...

Little Miss Amaya will be 9 months old tomorrow! Can you believe it? I know we can't! She is such a sweet little peanut, tiny as can be, but so full of energy and spunk. She weighs about 16 lbs. now, but is very strong for being so little. She is already well on her way to walking as she has been pulling to stand for a month now,and even lets go occasionally, balancing herself on her feet. She has yet to get a first tooth, but we know that little tooth will pop out when it's ready--just like our little princess did almost a month before her due date! As she is growing, we can see so much more of her personality. She is less demanding than Alex, but likes to be thrown in the air and loves to rough house with her brother! She is very active. She never stops crawling, scooting, and exploring her surroundings. Everything she finds get picked up, thoroughly explored and usually ends up in her mouth! She loves to play with anything her brother already has, which is causing some interesting battles in our house. She loves to be held, especially by Mommy and Daddy, and loves to be cuddled up against our chest in a blanket. She is also starting to show ineterst in self-feeding, so I've been smashing up bananas, sweet potatoes, carrots, broccoli, whatever I can that she can feed herself. She is not happy with baby food, since it is just not chunky enough for her! She defintely prefers her veggies to her fruits, which is totally opposite of Alex. He's our little sweet tooth! As I prepare to go back to work August 23rd, and start a brand new year at a brand new school, I am worried most about my little Amaya at daycare. She is such a Mama's girl and I know the first few weeks will be hard on her :( We are going to JCPenny tomorrow to get some pics taken, but enjoy some of these I took this week of our little 9 month old girl!

Our Awesome New Camera!

Abe and I finally broke down and decided a newer, nicer camera was in order as our kids grow. Our old Canon PowerShot was very nice, but Abe got it for me in 2006, so it was a couple years old and we started to notice some of the pictures were turning out grainy or blurry. So this time aroudn we upgraded for the new Olympus Pen. This camera is amazing! It is defintely a step up from the regular point and click variety. It is very easy to use and features art filters, digital zoom, and 12.3 MP. I have always been into photogrpahy, so this is the perfect new camera for me. I especially love to take pictures of the kids to use in their scrapbooks that I am hand-making for them, so having a new camra that tales top-quality photos is really important to me. If you're in the market for a new camera, seriously check out the Pen. It offers all of the high-tech options and quality that the Canon and Nikon models are known for, but it is much easier to use and priced similarily, if not slightly less expensive than those models. Here are soem of my favorite pictures I have taken so far with my Olympus Pen!
