"Goscars" and "shashi"

Alex's is almost 23 months old now, and his language skills are developing rapidly. He pretty much repeats or tries to repeat everything we say and has a pretty good command on the things he sees everyday. One of those thing is our beloved cats--Oscar and Lexie. Alex refers to them as "Goscars" and "Shashi". He LOVES our cats! He chases them around the house, much to their dismay. He pets them non-stop and he calls for them at random times when he's in a friendly mood. He also loves to yell at them! LOL. I guess he sees Abe and I scolding them all the time for jumping on things, eating what they shouldn't scrathing things, etc. and he follows suit. Oscar likes to jump on our counter and eat our bamboo and Alex shouts"No, Goscars get!" Or he'll say "shew" to the cats if they come anywhere near his snacks. It's pretty funny to watch. It's been really inetersting to watch him start to notice the cats and start to love them as his "brother and sister". It gets a little crazy aorund here with two kids and two animals to take care of, but we wouldn't have it any other way! On another note, Amaya is almost 3 months old and smiling more and more everyday. She is very attentive and alert and loves to be held and talked to. She recently had RSV and it was so sad to see her lethargic and sick, because she's so full of life and happy. She is now getting better and we are so thankful that she has pulled through the RSV okay. She now weighs 9lbs. 6 oz. and is growing everyday. We can'twait to see who she will look like and act like as time goes on. Enjoy the pictures from the lat few weeks!

Happy Birthday Lola!!

January 6th is Ms. Medy's birthday, so we celebrated with her at her hosue on Sunday. We had lots of good food, a yummy chocolate cake from Geresbecks, and watched her open her presents. She got a lot of really nice things, including some gift cards and a birthstone necklace from the grandkids. It has each child's birthstone in birth order and "Lola" engraved on a disc in the middle. She really seemed to like the kids' present because she wore it all day! We also watched the Ravens kick the Patriots' butts Sunday afternoon in their first playoff game. Yay Ravens! Now we just have to hope they can beat the Colts on Saturday! We all dressed in our Ravens gear, and since little Amaya doesn't have any Ravens gear yet, we dressed her up in her first pair of tights and a pink dress. She looked so cute! She's finally starting to fit into more clothing. When we took her to the doctor on Friday, she weighed 8 lbs. 11 oz! It's only the 5th percentile, but she's growing really well considering her tiny size at birth. She's also very healthy and developing normally. Speaking of doctor's visits though, Alex had to be seen Friday as well, and he has RSV :( So he's been home for 4 days with a fever and a terrible cough. His fever is finally gone today, so I am thinking he'll be good to go to daycare tomorrow! Enjoy some of our pics from the week!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year..2010!

Christmas was even more of a blast this year than last! With the addition of Amaya and Alex really starting to talk to show excitement over gifts, we had a great holiday and I hope you did too! Alex did quite well on Christmas, with several gifts from Santa and lots from relatives of course, and little Amaya didn't do half bad herself. His big present this year was a Fisher Price  remote control train set. The boy loves, loves lobes,"choo choos" and he was shaking when he opened it. He plays with it first upon waking and it's the first thing he runs to when he comes home from daycare everyday. He's so cute with it too. He'll watch it go around the track and he'll say really loud, "Choo choo! All aboard!" LOL. We are guessing he heard that on TV or maybe it was in a book I read to him. Either way, it's adorable. Amaya's big gift from us (and keep in mind, Amaya is a newborn, so we didn't get her anything extravagent) was some girly velcro toys to attach to her carrier. Alex's were very boyish and kind of wore down from traveling so much, so we got her some purple flowers and hearts to play with. The kids also were very spoiled by their Aunts, Uncles, Grand-parents and Great-Grandparents. The only issue we had was where to store everything without me going nuts over the clutter! So we purchased a 9-cube storage system with some canvas boxes to store the toys and put it in place of the train table we used to have in the living room. I am very happy with it, and as son as I get around to taking a picture of it, I post it for all to see. My long-term plan is to turn the 4th bedroom downstairs into a playroom, but I probably won't get to start that project until Spring Break in April. New Year's Eve was also very fun this year. We went to Maria's house and had a little party with all of the wild kids. We played some very interesting games of bingo, ate some delicious food, nd then made it back before the ball dropped for bedtime! LOL. Then Abe and I played boggle until the ball dropped and vowed that our New Year's resolution is no babies in 2010, since 2008 and 2009 brought us our current little blessings. Hope you all had a great one, and good luck going back to work for us all--especially me!
