Spring has sprung!

It hasn't seemed very spring-like the past few days, but it's offically spring now! That means, when the weather cooperates, we can get out of our house and get over our cabin fever! We have had an especially hard winter this year, so I know we are all excited that shorts and swimming is just around the corner! Alex is now a 2 year old, in every sense of the word. He is sweetness and smiling one minute and a demon child the next. We are really enjoying watching his vocabulary develop recently though. He seems to learn 10-20 new words per day! I've started trying to teach him to count, and he sort has 1,2,3 down, but then he goes on to 5,6and then 8,9. LOL. I guess 4 and 7 just don't exist for him! He still loves anything sports related and anything train related, but he's started to really pay attention to cars and trucks a lot too, especially when we're on the road. He really likes firetrucks. Amaya is also growing everyday. She rolls all over the place now and attempts to talk to us. We can tell she's definitely a girl, because she is always making some kind of noise! lol. Enjoy some of our pics of our visit home to Nana and Pap's and our cute kiddos!

Alex's 2nd Birthday Party!

Our handsome little boy turned 2 on March 5th, so last Sunday we gathered our friends and family together at our home to celebrate. We decorated with his favorite theme--Thomas the train and even had a Thomas cake from Mars! He had so much fun! We are so thankful to our family and friends for all of the wonderful presents he received as well. Some of his favorites were:a Thomas blanket and Thomas PJs, A light-up Buzz Lightyear, A few geotrax set-ups, and a new Playdoh set. We can't believe our little man is already 2 years old and growing so fast everyday. He speaks in sentences now, runs, jumps, climbs and still loves anything sports or train related! It's amazing to watch him grow up right before our eyes. He now loves to chase the cats around the house and is too independent to have Mommy and Daddy carry him up and down the stairs. He now insists on climbing up and down all by himself. Since getting the suggestion from our doctor at his two year check-up, we recently bought him a potty and have been introducing him to the concept, though we know it may take awhile for it to set in. I plan on devoting some time to that this summer when I am off of school for a bit. Amid the chaos, Amaya turned 4 months old too! She is now smiling and laughing out loud, and rolled over the first time on my and Alex's birthday. Btw--I turned 26 the same day Alex turned 2! He's my little birthday present! Amaya is getting cuter and cuter and has this adorable girly little voice. She likes to talk to us, and especially loves playing with her Daddy. We hope you all enoy the pics from the past few weeks. Thanks for stopping by!

Clippies and Mommy and Daddy Day!

As you can see from the above pictures, Amaya finally has enough hair to wear a little clippie! Her hair is still pretty thin and pretty fine, but she has a little tuft on top that is just enough to hold in a little clip bow. I think she looks adorable in her little clippie and I am sure you do too! She is getting so big, so fast. I can't believe she is already 3 and half months old! She'll be 4 months on the day of Alex's birthday party--March 7th. She doesn't have a doctor's appointment until March 8th, but I am guessing she weighs around 10-11 lbs. by now. Still a little peanut, but getting there. Alex is turning 2 in a few weeks, and boy does he act like it lately. We have had tantrums galore, and we're not even sure what to do sometimes. We just stare at him and ignore him the best we can, and we've started putting him in time-out, though he doesn't understand the concept too well. He will usually sit in the spot we put him, but he screams the whole time. It's been interesting around here to say the least. He still has his loves--basketball, football, baseball, soccer balls, cars, and of course choos choos especially Thomas the train. In fact, Thomas is the theme we decided to go with for his birthday party. It's his absolute favorite thing right now. He makes special requests to watch Thomas anytime he sees the on-demand screen. On an unrelated note, due to all of the wonderful snow, Abe and I were home with our kids all week, so on Monday we dropped them both off to daycare and decided to have a Mommy and Daddy date day. Plus we needed to celebrate our birthdays and Valentine's Day. So we headed downtown to Fogo de Chao and shopping at Filene's Basement. I came out empty handed, but Abe got a cool new hoodie. Looks like I'll finally be going back to work tomorrow, and I am excited for it! I've been home far too long! Enjoy the photos of our little princess in her clippies and some of our other pics from this weekend.

Amaya's 3 Month Pictures!

Amaya turned 3 Months old on Sunday, Feb. 7th, so we took her to JCPenny's and had some 3Month photos taken. She looked so sweet in her pink dress, and we even got some little smirks! Amaya's not much of a smiler yet, but she grinned a few times for the camera and we got some really good shots. What do you think?

Snowed In!!

Below are some pictures of today's blizzard! Altogether I think we got somewhere in the range of 30-35"--the largest amount of snowfall in Maryland history! Alex loved playing outside with our neighbor, Hayden, who i about a year older than him. They played with their sand buckets, trucks, and of course shovels! We even made a pth from our house to theirs so they could back and forth. He loved it so much, he cried when we had to bring him inside for a diaper change, lunch, and a nap. Enjoy our pictures of the crazy, historic snowfall!

This is what we saw when we opened our front door at around 9 AM, far from the storm being over and already anowed in!

Happy B-day Abe and Matthew!

One thing we are good at in our family is sharing birthdays, and wehad out first set of sharers celebrate theirs this past week. On Wednesday, Februrary 3rd, Abe turned 28 and Matthew turned 4 years old. We celebrated the two events with a family party at Mary and Dave's house on Sunday, Jan. 31st. We had lots of good food, and two cakes! A strawbery shortcake for the big birthday boy and a Toy Story themed cake for the little birthday boy. We all had a fun day, playing games and hanging out with family! The on Wednesay, Abe and I got an unexpected day off together since my two tires went flat on the way to work that morning. While the car was in the shop getting all 4 tires replaced, we went to Target and had lunch at TGI Fridays. It was a really nice day together--just the two of us. Then, later that evening, we sang to Abe and even Alex sang to his Daddy! Only he says "Happy to me, Happy to me" over and over again! Haha. We then had more strawberry shortcake with a Spiderman candle. Yeah! Our real present will be next Monday when we spend our day off on President's day celebrating both of birthdays and Valentine's day at Fogo de Chao. We defintely are keeping our fingers crossed for no blizzard that day! Enjoy some photos of us from this week!
